Yvonne Spencer is a former member of the Board of Directors of the National Space Society (NSS).

She holds a Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing, a Masters Degree in Education, a Masters Degree in Cancer Nursing, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Administration in Higher Education. She has memberships in Sigma Xi, Sigma Theta Tau, National Space Society, Space Nursing Society, United Societies in Space, National League of Nursing and other organizations that provide the means to be active in policy and decision-making processes. Dr. Spencer also produces “Spin-Off To Space”, a program that enhances the knowledge of space science in middle and high school students.
