Chris got the space bug early in life with his father, Dr. Wolfgang Kapp, working for the US Air Force at Wright Patterson AFB in aeronautics and space and met personally many pioneers of the space program.  Chris studied aeronautical engineering at RWTH Aachen (Germany) and NIT Trondheim (Norway) where he finished with a master’s of science (DiplIng) degree.

His career spans three decades and he lived in five different countries and visited a further 50 countries engineering large turbomachinery for Oil & Gas, Energy and industrial applications for companies such as Siemens and Rolls-Royce. Chris started a turbomachinery joint venture in Pune, India with the Kirloskar group. Currently Chris works as a turbomachinery and business consultant and as a professor for engineering at Lone Star College.

The turbomachinery projects include first carbon neutral compressor pipeline station in the world, and pioneering Biogas, Hydrogen and Solar applications, amongst more traditional energy technologies.

Chris is married and lives in Houston, TX. His wife Sharon is an Ayurvedic doctor. The youngest of three some, attended the NASA Hunch program in High School,  studied physics and astronomy at Texas A&M and is working in the satellite industry in Colorado, continuing the family aerospace tradition.
