Jack Swigert of the Week: Guys, I Have Some Advice for You.

“Dammit. Life Magazine has interrupted my ‘How to Get the Laydeez’ tutorial. No big deal. My tutorial next week involves tried and true tips like, ‘Hey, you left your jacket in my car,’ among other things.” Jack Swigert, Wally Schirra, and Donn Eisele, 1968. Photo courtesy of Life Magazine.

Interesting tidbit of information: Jack Swigert was part of Apollo 7’s support crew, and was the unfortunate recipient of Wally Schirra’s infamous “Okay, we’ve had it up here…” rant. I hope Jack received a pay raise that year or some kind of special medal.

  1. Yeah, he was the Apollo 7 Capcom! Poor poor guy. I think he got the brunt of all the abuse from the guys. LOL, I hope they paid Jack handsomely for his troubles…
