Jeremy Pyle Biography

Mr. Pyle is a former Vice Presicent of Public Affairs for the National Space Society, where he was responsible for internal and external communications, including media relations, advertising and member publications. In this role he also supported other NSS committees and initiatives with the formulation of communications strategies that ensure consistent messaging within the organization, and between NSS and key external audiences.

Mr. Pyle has served as an NSS Board member and as President of the Bay Area NSS chapter, the Golden Gate Space Frontier Society.

Previously, Mr. Pyle worked at the San Francisco office of Hill & Knowlton, a leading international public relations and public affairs firm. While at Hill & Knowlton, he gained experience in technology media relations, public affairs, special event management, interactive/online communications, community relations, and litigation support. He served on a wide variety of client account teams, including Hewlett-Packard, Sony Computer Entertainment America (PlayStation), Motorola, Pacific Gas and Electric Company, the Bay Area Council, E*Trade, Callidus Software, and the Sharper Image. He has also provided media relations and event support to a number of non-profit clients and corporate philanthropic activities, including Compaq/HP’s “Give Thanks America” initiative, United Way of America’s “Hometown Huddle” event, and Ford’s “Rosie the Riveter” education event.

Since 2003, Mr. Pyle has supported the non-profit Spaceweek International Association in its efforts to promote math and science education to youth around the world, with media relations and event management support for World Space Week (WSW). The World Space Week events featured several K-12 school visits by Youth Spokesman and *NSYNC star Lance Bass, as well as an international student contest to design a space station module. The campaigns resulted in extensive print and broadcast media coverage, including CNN, MSNBC, Associated Press, Houston Chronicle, regional network TV affiliates, and the online versions of MTV, Billboard, Rolling Stone, and E! Entertainment.

Mr. Pyle lives in San Francisco, is an avid space enthusiast and member of the National Space Society, Planetary Society, Space Generation Foundation and Space Frontier Foundation. He received a B. A. in journalism & public relations from San Diego State University and completed minors in Russian and political science.
