Hon. Edward R. Finch, Jr., lawyer, former diplomat, author, and lecturer was born in Westhampton Beach, N.Y. in 1919. He obtained an A.B. from Princeton University, a J.D. from New York University, an LLD from Missouri Valley College, and a D.Sc. from Cumberland College.

He was a U.S. Special Ambassador to Panama in 1972 and a member of the U.S. Delegation to UNISPACE in 1982 and 1999, and is Permanent NGO Representative to the UN Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space.

Dr. Finch has authored Hands In Your PocketsAstro Business: A Guide to Commerce and Law of Outer Space, and Judical Politics. He has been decorated with the U.S. Legion of Merit with oak leaf cluster, the Order of the British Empire, and the Legion of Honor of France.

He is a member of the International Society for Space Law, the International Astronautical Society, and the Council of American Ambassadors. He is a Fellow of the American Bar Association and has served as Chairman of the Executive Committee of the World Affairs Council.
