Burt Dicht oversees the membership operations of the National Space Society (NSS) and manages its office at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Dicht retired in 2022 as the Director of Student and Academic Programs for the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), where he developed and implemented educational programs for engineering faculty and students, as well as pre-university educators and students.

Dicht began his career in the aerospace industry at Northrop Grumman in 1982, contributing to the design of the F-5E/F, F-20A, YF-23A, and F-18E/F projects. He was also a member of the technical staff for Rockwell International’s Space Transportation Systems Division and completed NASA’s Summer Employment Training Program as a college intern.

Dicht holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Temple University and an M.A. in History from California State University, Northridge. He has authored numerous articles on aerospace history and is a frequent guest speaker on aviation and space topics. Additionally, he served as an Exhibit Explainer for the Intrepid Sea, Air, and Space Museum in NYC and is currently a Major and Aerospace Education Officer for the New York Wing and the Phoenix Composite Squadron (NYC) of the Civil Air Patrol.
